The best certification for you depends on your job focus and the type of compliance work you do today. Below is a high-level overview to help you narrow it down.
Healthcare Compliance Certifications
CCB offers three healthcare-focused certifications, each aligned to a specific area of practice:
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)®
Best suited for professionals working in general healthcare compliance (e.g., hospitals, health systems, provider organizations). - Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC)®
Designed for professionals whose primary role involves research compliance, including clinical trials and human subjects research. - Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)®
Intended for professionals focused on healthcare privacy, including HIPAA and data protection responsibilities.
Compliance & Ethics Certifications
For broader compliance and ethics roles:
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)®
Geared toward professionals working primarily with U.S. compliance and ethics laws. - Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional–International (CCEP-I)®
Focuses on international compliance and ethics laws and is best suited for professionals working outside the U.S. or supporting international operations.
If your role spans both U.S. and international compliance, CCB may recommend pursuing both CCEP and CCEP-I.
